How It All Started
It all started in 1979 when Bob Anderson rolled out his first set of plans on the dining room table as a carpenter contractor for single family homes. Bob set the standard of doing business the right way and treated all employees with respect and integrity. With this approach, Bob built a stable, talented, and long tenured team thru the 90’s and the turn of the century and began the transition into the commercial and multi-family markets. In 2014, Bob handed over the reins to his son Jeff who had grown up in the family business and had worked along side his father since he was a young boy. Jeff didn’t just keep momentum that was already built – with his talented and long tenured team, he guided the company to new levels. Adding cranes to the fleet of equipment and talented staff to the team, Bob Anderson Builders, Inc. grew steadily for the next 9 years, winning larger and more complex projects. Understanding, it was time to put in another succession plan and knowing that there was no better group of men and women to own the companies than the very men and women who helped build them, Jeff sold 100% of Bob Anderson Builders, Inc. to the team of employees in 2023. With the acquisition of Mertins Custom Cabinets and the birth of BAB Design Build, The Anderson Construction Group was formed in 2025 and now holds five separate companies in its group. From a single-family home carpenter contractor at the dining room table in 1979 to a 100% Employee-Owned family of companies, one thing has remained the same and will always remain the same – people are the single most valuable asset we have. Today, Bob Anderson Builders is proudly led by the next generation, continuing the values Bob built his name on: integrity, character, and a job well done. What began as a one-man operation is now a full-service carpentry and construction company serving commercial, multi-family, and residential clients throughout Wisconsin.
